Classical:Next

Jean-Frédéric is now Executive Director of the Orchestre de l’Agora since June 2019, an ensemble whose social mission unfolds through innovative projects that contribute to Montreal’s cultural dynamism. In two years, he has led the Orchestra to produce its first symphony orchestra concert in North America, curated a new Chamber Music Series and created a new partnership with the Bordeaux Prison to present concert-workshops to incarcerated people.

Emilie Fortin

Émilie’s artistic practice revolves around three axes: the creation of new repertoire through close collaboration between performer and composer, the exploration of new sounds through improvisation, and teaching. Constantly seeking to enrich the trumpet repertoire, she has participated in the creation of over forty works. Her future and present collaborations explore physicality connection with training in body mime, dance and theater.

Gabrielle Valevicius (Orford Musique)

Gabrielle’s objectives at Orford Music include the development and growth of the organization’s new artistic residency program that launched in 2021. These artistic residencies not only provide an enchanting environment for musicians to work in, located at the heart of a provincial park, but the program also aims to support artists in their personal and professional development through a variety of stimulating conferences and encounters proposed during each residency.
